This is a new project initiated in autumn 2009, when I moved to Lancaster for a doctoral research in the area of visual sociology:

All photographs are naturally occurring social artefacts from Lancaster, Morecambe, Manchester, Liverpool, Blackpool and many other places in North-West England.

The photographs appear without any text. They don't claim to represent any specific locality. They certainly don't try to beautify, or capture the odd, or even convince you that there is such a thing called 'North-West'...

What you actually may find here is how things feel like.
